Useful fault matching, with honest limits.
These terms apply to Signal accounts, vehicle records, AI-assisted fault matching and community contributions.
Last updated: 29 August 2026What Signal provides
Signal Automotive is a vehicle-information and decision-support service. It can organise vehicle records and compare written details, reported codes and warnings, and locally measured audio clues with possible fault patterns. In the current free build, sampled video frames are retained as evidence but are not visually interpreted.
An evidence review, pattern-strength candidate, summary or community answer is not a confirmed diagnosis, roadworthiness inspection, MOT test or substitute for a qualified technician examining the vehicle.
Safety comes first
- Do not rely on Signal to decide that a vehicle is safe to drive.
- Stop in a safe place and seek professional help for red warning lights, loss of braking or steering, smoke, fire, overheating, fuel smell, severe vibration, sudden power loss or any condition that feels unsafe.
- Follow the vehicle handbook and instructions from the manufacturer, emergency services and qualified technicians.
- Do not film, type or operate the service while driving.
Accounts and vehicle information
You must provide accurate information and only access accounts and vehicles you are entitled to manage. Registration lookups can be incomplete, delayed or wrong, so check the returned make, model and variant before saving or using a result.
Keep access to your email and Google account secure. Tell us promptly if you believe your Signal account has been used without permission.
Uploads and community posts
You keep ownership of material you submit. By publishing a contribution, you give Signal Automotive permission to host, reproduce and display it as needed to operate the community feature. Any permission to use a resolved case as AI supporting evidence, for research or for model improvement is a separate opt-in choice.
- Only upload material you created or have permission to use.
- Do not expose personal information, registration documents, precise locations or another person without their permission.
- Do not post dangerous instructions, unlawful material, harassment, advertising spam or misleading repair outcomes.
- Mark a repair as confirmed only when the outcome is supported by a completed inspection or repair.
Moderation
We may review, restrict or remove content and suspend accounts to protect users, comply with law or enforce these terms. Community material may be wrong, incomplete or written by someone without professional qualifications. Treat it as experience shared by another user, not verified advice unless clearly stated otherwise.
Crowdfunding and investment interest
The funding page explains possible uses of future funding and records contact interest. It does not take payment, offer shares, publish a valuation, promise a financial return or invite anyone to make an investment.
A crowdfunding campaign or investment opportunity, if launched, would have separate terms, eligibility requirements, risk information and formal documents. Registering interest does not reserve a reward, allocation or investment and does not commit either you or Signal Automotive to proceed.
Service availability and liability
We work to keep the service accurate and available, but vehicle data, AI output and third-party services can fail. To the extent permitted by law, Signal Automotive is provided without a guarantee that every issue will be identified or ranked correctly.
Nothing in these terms limits rights or liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including applicable consumer rights or liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
Changes and contact
Features and these terms may change as the product develops. The current version and effective date will remain available here. For questions, use the current contact details published by Braid Valley Motors and identify Signal Automotive in your message.
